Next, a name for the domain must be typed. Figure 62 shows the screen that appears when a

DNS name is necessary.

Note All Windows NT administrators should have an excellent understanding of DNS, which is critical

to the performance of Active Directory. Even something as simple as joining a workstation to a

domain requires DNS to be working properly.

After typing the name of the domain, a dialog box prompts the administrator for the forest

functional level as the following figure shows.
