EEPROM
A 256-byte serial EEPROM (i.e., non-volatile memory chip) is located on a small circuit board within
the D connector of each probe. The first 128 bytes in the probe EEPROM contain reserved
information records. They are generally not changed except to recalibrate. The remaining 128 bytes
are undefined.

Example Circuits
The following example circuits are provided to suggest the variety of special transducers than can be
easily interfaced to the CyberAmp 380. In many cases, the adapters and probes available from Axon
Instruments will suffice; if not, custom adapters can be built with minimum effort because the
CyberAmp supplies the power, excitation and amplification that is needed for most applications.
Memory Circuit for Probe Identification
Figure 19. This circuit is used in every AI 400 series probe.
The 24C02 memory chip (EEPROM) and small prototyping
circuit board are included in the AI 490 connector kit.
Probes may be freely attached to the CyberAmp without this
memory circuit, but automatic identification will not be
possible.
