Saving IM Conversations

IM conversations are saved in Rich Text Format (.rtf) by default. This file type can be read by

most word processing applications (e.g., Microsoft Word).

1. From the Conversation window, click the next to CONVERSATION , select File »

Save As...

A confirmation dialog box appears.

2. OPTIONAL: Select Don't show this message again.

NOTE: The option is selected when a checkmark appears.

3. Click OK

A Save As explorer window appears.

4. Navigate to the desired save location

5. In the File name text box, type a name

6. Click SAVE

The conversation is saved as a Rich Text File (.rtf).

Opening Saved IM Conversations

To open a saved IM conversation, you must use a word processing application (e.g., Microsoft

Word) because Communicator 2007 cannot open Rich Text Format (.rtf) files. The procedure for

opening a saved IM conversation is the same as opening any other word processing file.
